Electric Fight

The city was quiet as always, but electricity was felt in the air. All day long the people of the town was nervous about it, but they just went on about their business as usual. The sky was pretty and blue, the sun was shining, and everything was alright. Children were playing in their yards, and the adults were doing their chores outside just as they did every day. Who would have thought that the electricity in the air had been building up for a very long time? Who would have thought that it was going to strike? Before everyone knew it, the sky began to turn colors that they had never seen before. They thought that the sun was just going in for a bit like it sometimes did, but little did they know, it was about to be the biggest electric storm they had ever seen in their life. They kept on doing what they were doing, such as raking leaves, planting flowers, and talking to each other.

To their knowledge, things were normal as always, but it was just a bit different that day in the city. Night fell quickly and they didn’t understand why. They could not understand what was going on. They became afraid. Everything was going through their mind at that point. They went inside of their homes and locked the doors, shut the windows, and pulled the blinds shut. They began to pray for whatever it was to pass over, but while they were praying, it began to thunder. The water began to move slowly, but there were a few waves, but not enough to cause any damage. It thundered louder and louder! The children began to cry because they were afraid of the thunder. They had not ever heard it roll like that before. It was the kind of roll that you could feel down to the bone. It was the kind of roll that stopped you dead in your tracks. It was the kind of roll that shook the ground, and shook everything that was inside and outside.

The wind began to blow hard over the water, there were not any trees near the water, but the water began to churn. Lightening began to flash in the east and lit up the sky. Thunder roared with a crashing BOOM! as the lightening came from the west. Both sides came together and began to fight. Electricity was everywhere in the sky, even touching down on the water. It was so bad. Electricity was not playing around, both sides were trying to get their points across, but they just fought all the more. Nothing could settle them, or calm them down. The sky was lit up with crackling bolts of electricity.

While they were fighting, every one of the elements stood at the side on both sides to see who would win or lose the fight. The water churned harder and harder. The wind began to blow harder and harder, but it was as if they hated one another. The east would not bow to the west, and the west would not bow to the east, but the water stood up in between the two to stop the fight, but they overpowered the water, so she just stepped back. Low and behold, the rain began to fall. She cried very hard, throwing down sheets at a time to try to calm them down, but it did not help any. She began to mist slowly because she was so sad.

This electric fight went on for hours on end. The elements went back to where they were because they got tired of watching this nonsense. The thunder roared as long as they fought, neither of them wanted to give up. The people in the city had become terrified. They thought that the sky was going to catch on fire because of all of the electricity flowing badly up there in the sky. They thought for sure that the city was going to be struck by one of the bolts that flew down and hit the water. It came close to hitting a powerline, it is good that it didn’t. Hour’s past like minutes, but there was still electricity fighting in the sky. It went on all night long. As the sun began to rise, they were so tired, they both gave up and parted ways, but they didn’t until they shook bolts. They worked out their differences between themselves. East went East, and West went West, and the sky was clear again. The sun shone brighter than it ever did before. Everything in the city was calm again, and everyone was happy again to know that it all eventually passed over.

Just like the different sides had to work out their differences between each other in their own way, we too have to work out our differences with each other so we all can get along in this world. There are going to be bystanders, and there are those who will try to step in between a fight and break it up, and there are those who will pray for things to get better in the world, and there are those who get tired and walk away. Through it all, things sometimes work themselves out. Sometimes a truce can be called between the two to neutralize things, sort of like a peace treaty so everyone can live in the same place and get along. If things were that simple, there wouldn’t be any wars going on anywhere. Let’s seek peace and pursue it, resist the devil and he will flee, so God can give us the desires of our hearts. I desire peace and tranquility for this world we live in. What do you desire for God to give you? Until next time, try not to have an electric fight. c.2022
