As we welcome the month of November, we have to welcome the cold weather that the month has in store for us. This is the  month that we pull out all of our favorite winter clothes that we only get to wear during the cold seasons of the year. It is  time to pull out the hats and scarves, ear muffs, gloves, and our favorite eye wear to shield our eyes from the cold air and wind.

It is time to drink hot chocolate and beverages to keep us warm on the inside when we are enjoying the cold outside. Yes, we will be able to see our breath, but that is alright. I personally hope that it snow this year. I want to create some art in the snow and take pictures of it.

I can picture lakes being frozen through and through, seeing ice skaters enjoying themselves. That is something that I have always wanted to learn to do, but due to other conditions, I just don’t think I will ever learn. All in all it is fun to watch though. I love watching the figure skating competitions when the Winter Olympics shows on television.

Novenber sets the mood for Thanksgiving. This is when we all pull out the recipes and go through them to see what we are going to prepare for that day. It is the time when family comes together to share what we are thankful for. It is the time when we come together and talk about the good old days and memories of childhood. It is the time when we all make new memories to share with our children and their children.

There may be laughter and tears of the memories of those that have gone on before us. Whatever the occasion on Thanksgiving just have fun. Dance, sing, read, listen to your favorite music, snuggle up with that special someone and watch movies. Take a walk and enjoy the smell of Winter as the wind blows through the branches where leaves once were; listen to the soft sounds of the wind as it swirls on by.

November also sets the mood for Christmas. Everyone is shopping looking for that perfect gift, the perfect tree,the perfect decorations to trim the tree, the perfect lights to make it shine, and the perfect star, or angel to put on top of the tree. It is the time that gifts from the heart is being made, it is the time we pull out all of the favorite Christmas music; and some of the new music to make the season even brighter. We all have our childhood favorites that we like to sing.

We have that favorite outfit that we like to wear that celebrates the season of Christmas. November is the month where everyone is excited for the celebrations that are going to take place. The department stores are full of children and their families buying gifts for their friends for Christmas parties.

Speaking of Thanksgiving and Christmas parties, things will not be as they were before I suppose. Whatever the case may be, just enjoy the season and your families. Even zoom has to be used to communicate with family, it is worth it.

Art is all over the place, especially during the holiday season; take time out to make decorations, the kind that comes from the heart lasts a lifetime.
